The ATV Club had advocated development of this staging area for years, the Monument BLM office took it upon themselves to do this project after enlisting a dozen ATV Club members and 4 local equestrian enthusiasts to volunteer a day so as to satisfy the required volunteer hours to qualify for a Utah Parks “Recreational Trails” grant to pay for much of the costs. Unfortunately, the site developed with taxes paid on gas purchased by Utah OHV riders and is now posted ‘no camping’ which impacts those very same persons, who paid for it, so directly. The staging area does have a pit toilet and is fenced off and is rarely used because of the restrictions.
